Today’s Tip: Please Remember to Byte-Serve

15th November, 2009 - Posted by MsD

There’s no need for a user to wait for your PDF files to download before they can start reading or interacting. Be sure to use Fast Web View to allow downloading page by page, a process called byte-serving. How can you be sure you’re using byte-serving? Open the Preferences, and select Documents in the categories column. In the Save Settings area, select the “Save As optimizes for Fast Web View” check box. Now any time you have a file that you’re not sure about, choose File > Save As and resave the file with the same name and location.
